The best ice cream in the world is made with Sicilian pistachios

The World Tour Gelato was held in Rimini, which decreed pistachio gelato as the best flavour.

The prize went to the ice cream made by Alessandro Crispini of the Crispini ice cream parlour in Spoleto in the province of Perugia, which used the Sicilian pistachios of Bronte, in the province of Catania, Raffadali and Valle del Platani, in the province of Agrigento.

The mix of these varieties has created an exceptional product: the three types of pistachio are roasted for 24 hours, then blanched with sugar and Madagascar vanilla beans.

The winner of the Gelato World Tour (created in 2013 by the company Carpigiani, specialized in the production of ice cream machines) was an international jury of experts including journalists, food and wine bloggers, ice cream makers and pastry chefs.

More prizes and awards for our excellent food products, appreciated all over the world
